BAF + CFA simultaneously with 3 hour daily commute in Mumbai — looking for guidance
Hey everyone,
I'm 17 (turning 18 this month), just completed my 12th and planning to join BAF. I've decided to pursue CFA alongside, targeting Level 1 in my second year.
My situation:
-Commerce without Maths background.
-3 hour total daily commute.
-Planning to start CFA Level 1 prep from now itself, giving exam in 2nd year.
Why BAF over BFM:
I specifically chose BAF over BFM because BFM's syllabus heavily overlaps with CFA curriculum — CFA already covers markets and finance in depth and goes even deeper. I didn't want to study the same concepts twice. BAF gives me deep accounting knowledge which CFA only touches on the surface — this way both complement each other rather than overlap. Strong accounting fundamentals should also help significantly in CFA's Financial Statement Analysis section.
A few questions:
1.Is BAF + CFA simultaneously manageable or is it too ambitious?
2.Any recommended CFA coaching in Thane specifically?
3.Any BAF students here who've done this combination?
thanks in advance!
