[Student] Looking for advice on including undergraduate honors thesis for new grad job search!

Hi All,

I'll be graduating with my BS in Math + CS in May 2026. I have a SWE job lined up upon graduation. Without getting into too many details, although I am lucky and happy with the offer, I will be recruiting for better SWE opportunities as soon as I graduate.

When I graduate, I will have completed an honors thesis, which (broadly speaking) focuses on theoretical analysis of optimization algorithms.

My question is: since I will be recruiting for SWE roles, not applied scientist/research positions (I don't particularly enjoy research anymore), should I still include this thesis and possibly my advisor in my resume (in the Education section)?

I am wondering if I should exclude the thesis, since it is theory-based and therefore not as relevant to engineering roles.

Some background:

T25 CS school, the lab focuses on Applied AI and Big Data. I have done a lot of technical applied work in the lab, which I will be including on my resume (technical lead, several projects).

Any advice is greatly appreciated!
