Is Prototype like a normal drop now?

So I’m a new player and I was doing the Faye Lau manhunt through matchmaking.

After we finished the mission and the DC chopper arrived, my teammates left, but I stayed behind to look around a bit. Out of curiosity, I shot Faye Lau’s body… and suddenly a bunch of Black Tusk (including warhounds) spawned out of nowhere.

I cleared them, then went back and shot her body again this time another BT chopper came in and dropped more enemies. Cleared those too.

When I tried a third time, her body was gone.

Is this some kind of hidden mechanic or Easter egg (like Hunter mask puzzles)?
