How do players not get confused by all the lines on the field?

Watched a bunch of lacrosse this weekend. Several games had fields with lines for like 4 different sports. I know they’re color coded, but still, I find it amazing that there isn’t more confusion. Do they just get used to it?

My seven year old just finished his first season of lacrosse. He fell in love with it. He talks about it all the time. I bought him a Hackees set and he is constantly playing with it. He loves to watch college lacrosse games on TV. He talks about which major DI program he’s going to play for one day.

There’s just one problem. He is… just not very good. His stick skills are good just from practicing so much. But he is considerably slower and less agile than the other kids his age.

I worry that he is getting so invested into something where he’s doomed to failure. But I didn’t start playing until high school so I know nothing about youth development. Is it common for young players to struggle initially and then blossom later on? Am I making a mountain out of a molehill by projecting this season onto the rest of his journey?
