Inherited this from my great grandfather. Can anyone help identify it?
Hi all, my great grandfather used to run a masonic lodge and passed this down to me. I'd love to know more about it before it gets passed down further in the family.
It's a small pendant on a gold chain. When closed it forms a ball, but it unfolds into a cross shape with what looks like geometric symbols engraved on each panel. It has "Made in England" stamped on it. There are also 3 letters engraved on it but I've kept those private for now.
I'm curious about how old it might be, what the symbols mean, and whether it has any specific Masonic significance or was used for anything in particular.
Any help would be really appreciated, even just pointing me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.
