So I had some left over parts from the last swap and a loose mdv-106 dial lying around…

Although its resistance is probably downgraded to 100m bc of the case/crown- the result is a super illuminated marlin!

It’s a snug fit, the stems/crown had to be adjusted and the red seconds hand is stolen from a mrw-400. I apologized to anyone who knows how the LEDs are placed, because they know what kind of abuse that dial took lol.

Having several black dial Casio divers, it’s hard to rotate through all of them often. A fellow redditor inspired me to make use of my black bezeled MTD-1079 by cannibalizing a watch I don’t often wear enough- the MTD-1082-4AVDF.

Inside the case, the module/dial and the multiple led lights work separately- one on top of one another. They are individually powered by their own battery bc the light on these are ridiculously bright.

These divers are proportioned more like a heftier MDV-106, yet illuminate like an MDV-102.

I don’t think I’ve ever encountered a red dial diver style Casio outside of the black finished cased of the MTD-1082.

For me, the color and the stainless steel is a welcomed combination.

This is the ae-1000 inside the ae-2000 bezel/case making it a 200 m water resistant chimera of a royale.

I make a point that it’s silent, bc the spring on the module does not reach the back of the chunkier case back (if anyone has any remedies, much appreciated).

The square series gets a lot of attention, but I’ve always wanted a metal case for the round version- something similar to the material quality of the amw-701 and its aesthetics. Cheers
