Bathroom renovation quote came in at 28k. Is this normal or am I getting ripped off?

Hey everyone. First time renovating in Sydney. Got a quote to redo our small bathroom. Just new tiles, shower screen, vanity, toilet, and fix some waterproofing issues from the previous owner.

Quote came back at 28 grand not including tiles or fixtures just labour and waterproofing wtf.

I know trades are expensive right now everyone says that but 28k for a bathroom that is like 4x3 metres? That seems insane to me.the breakdown was like 12k for waterproofing and tiling, 8k for plumbing, 4k for electrical, and the rest for rubbish removal and incidentalsa and i got a second quote from another guy. He was closer to 22k but he seemed less experienced. Could not really answer my questions about waterproofing standards. Do I pay the 28k and hope the work is good? Or keep looking?

For the tradies and experienced renovators here, what is the actual going rate for a small bathroom reno in Sydney right now? Am I just out of touch or is 28kreasonable for quality work?

Also what questions should I ask to make sure I am not getting a cowboy?

Any advice would be great. I do not want to waste money but I also do not want to end up on one of those renovation nightmare shows on TV.Thx guys

Switched to cheaper poly bags to save $0.02. Got hit with a 150 inbound compliance fee. Worth it?

FBA seller , about 400-500 units/month in the US market, but I'm sourcing and prepping from Australia (long story).

I switched to cheaper poly bags from a local Melbourne supplier to save maybe $10-15 total on a shipment. Specs looked fine on paper - 80 microns, clear, suffocation warning.Shipment hits the FC, booom and flagged. Amazon says the bags don't meet their "puncture resistance" and "transparency" standards. Got hit with a $25 compliance fee plus they repackaged everything at $0.45/unit. Total cost of trying to save Almost 150 lol.

now I'm paranoid about switching suppliers at all. But my usual guy raised prices again.I found a mob prices look decent, specs match Amazon's requirements. But I don't trust spec sheets anymore after getting burned.

guys who actually know-

1)How do you verify a poly bag is Amazon-ready without ordering 5,000 units first?

2)What's your actual checklist for puncture resistance before committing to bulk?

Not looking for a guide, want to know what actually works for people who've been through this.

Also - anyone else notice Amazon AU is way stricter on packaging than US? thanks you guys
