Why should an NFL team ever trade up in the draft?
To me it seems like trading up in the draft almost never works out in the favor of the team trading up and and there's usually equivalent or even better talent available at later picks. A lot of the best players in the NFL are guys that were taken in the back half of the first round. Are these teams just bad at identifying talent and therefore must trade up in order to compensate?
