Black Phone 2 was awful

I didn’t expect much but good god, that was bad. The first one was clever, unique, and well written/executed. This one was not that, not even a little bit. Plot was nonexistent, effects were laughable, the grabber wielding an axe while ice skating. It felt like 2 hrs just to get 15 mins worth of backstory on the grabber and the truth about what happened to the kids mom. Which could have been interesting! If they only cared enough to house these plot points in a story that was worth while. Why is there an old phone booth in the middle of this camp? Why is there a winter camp in Colorado that closes when it snows?

Most importantly, why such positive reviews for this pile of garbage?

Jupiter-Xm smash or pass

Hello all,

I’m heavily considering purchasing a Jupiter-Xm. My local music shop has a floor model in perfect condition and still under warranty that they will sell for $1,300 which seems like a great deal albeit still expensive. I’m curious if anyone here has experience with this synth and if so what are your thoughts on it?

My current setup consists of mpc 1000, microfreak, and a behringer syncussion. I’ve had my mpc forever and love it dearly. The syncussion has been great so far. I’m really enjoying the microfreak as well, however, I find it difficult to get more mellow/soft sounds from it. It does what it does very well, but I’m missing those softer textures.

I played the Jupiter-Xm for a while in store and loved it. For someone like myself who is not terribly well versed in synthesizers, I had no problem navigating the controls and dialing in some awesome sounds and I barely scratched the surface of what it’s capable of.

I guess my hold up is the price. $1300 is a lot of money even though that’s well under retail. At that price point, is there something else you’d recommend that might be a better option for me? Thanks for the help.
