Qatar Airways Qsuites Business Class - Airbus A350

Always fun flying Qatar Airways business class.

There are 46 business class seats on the Airbus A350 in a 1-2-1 staggered configuration. Odd rows are facing backward and even rows are facing forward. Not as awkward as you would think because they have high walls.

Seats are 21.5 inches wide and can extend into 79 inches when fully lie-flat as a bed. They have fully enclosed suites with a sliding door and 52 inch walls.

Each suite also has 21.5 inch 4K screen.

The service, meals, and drinks onboard were quite nice, as you would expect with Qatar Airways. My only critique was that one of the armrests for the seat was broken.

You can book this business class flight for as low as 60,000 points one-way. While there is typically more availability on Qatar Airways’ own loyalty program, you can book these seats on any of their partners (American Airlines, British Airways, Iberia, Cathay, Finnair, etc.). Fees are much lower when booking on American Airlines though.

You can search manually or rely on one of the award flight alert tools out there. Some airline websites are easier to search on than others.

For example, it’s much easier to search on American Airlines with their calendar feature than on British Airways or Iberia.

Can’t wait for their Qsuites 2.0 to roll out.

EVA Air new business class - Boeing 787

Love the new seating on EVA Air 787 business class!

26 business class seats are in a 1-2-1 staggered configuration. Seats are 23 inches wide at the shoulders and 20 inches at the base. 44 inches pitch and 76 inches bed length.

The screens are 18 inches in 4K and you also get a handheld remote near the armrest.

Food, drinks, and service are amazing as always. Arguably one of the best business class dining experiences in Asia.

You can book this flight for 75,000 points one-way. There will typically be more availability on EVA’s own loyalty program called Infinity MileageLands. You can transfer to EVA from Capital One (4:3) and Citi points transfer (1:1). I’ve been able to book 4 saver fare business class flights on EVA before.

Alternatively, you can try booking on Air Canada for 75K points, on United for 88K points, or Avianca (~85K to 90K points). But EVA typically doesn’t release more than 1 seat to partners.

A workaround method is to find availability on Air Canada, United, or Avianca, then go to EVA directly to see if there are more seats available.

Glad these new seat configurations are now on SFO flights and will be on DFW flights later this year.
