Lens choice for old DSLR
Hi! I will be shooting a short video next month as a trailer for an EP i worked on with friends. It will be my first time shooting something and consciously thinking about what i need to get the look i want to achieve. I will be using an old Canon EOS Rebel T2i that I inherited a couple years ago, but the only lens I have is the kit lens.
I've been meaning to get a prime lens so i can squeeze the most out of the old T2i but i'm a little lost on the choices. We'll mostly be shooting outdoors at night around the city and inside a car, so low light. Visual references are Belly (1998), Deep Cover (1992), Pusher (1996), and Thief (1982).
Been eyeing the Canon 50mm bc i want to work with a wider aperture but there's so many varying versions and prices of it. Which one would be the best around $100 used? I've also been thinking of getting an adapter and buying a vintage Nikkor or Yashica lens since they go cheaper used. What would be the best option for my case?
