Considering buying a home in East Hartford. Tell me why that’s a great choice or the biggest mistake of my life.
Hi friends. My husband and I are looking to buy our first home somewhere in a 20 mile radius of Hartford using a CHFA loan for 295-330k. We’ve been browsing the market and East Hartford has emerged as a potential hidden gem given its location, semi-decent school system (we’ll be there for ten years and have a baby on the way), and old school charm.
However, there’s a huge caveat. My husband is very, very worried about the flooding potential given the FEMA maps of the area. If you have thought about this as well, please weigh in on your experience and why you would or wouldn’t buy a home in East Hartford. Thank you!
