softs: graduate degree, some published academic work, several years of volunteer and paid work though nothing incredibly exciting/ on the "high tier softs" lists. Can't really say how good my personal statement was, I'd say I'm a decent writer in general but these personal story type things feel awkward to me. I tied in my grad research and life experiences to the "why law" question pretty well I think, though not super unique.
