Giving up - extremely sad about it
I loved LP2 and LP3 worked well for a while. I've used these phones for years. But I have to give it up. Its a function of the RCS issue with Google + the phone being, well, dumb.
Google just rolled out some major updates to their messaging platform and the day that occurred I had sooo many issues. No longer receiving group messages, having to teach people how to send SMS instead of RCS - which didn't work for people who just don't understand technology. And then on top of that the web messaging app for google lost a lot of its great functionality that I loved it for.
I can't be teaching people about RCS vs SMS. I can't start every single group thread. I can't go through all my current threads and explain to my massive family (I'm one of 8) that I need them to delete the thread and start over. This is 2026, people start messages all the time. People want quick and easy, not a whole technology education lesson every time they try to text me.
I wish I could just turn off RCS and deal with it but I can't. The messaging it affects ranges from highly important people like my MIL (who watches my child sometimes) to my boss. It's just not acceptable.
I'm actually very sad about this.
I hope Light continues to work hard on this issue so that RCS isn't what keeps people like me, very loyal loving fans, from using their product.
