Help me stay in the neighborhood (will give you a sweet deal if you’re moving out/looking for a lease takeover)
Hi everyone -- putting this out here in hopes it can reach the right people. I’m attempting to stay in the only area I’ve called home here. I have been looking for a while but been having a tough time with brokers (I’m sure they are swamped). Usually I’ve found places through friends so I wanted to reach out to a wider circle.
I’m looking for a decent studio or 1br in Gowanus, Park Slope, South Slope, or Windsor Terrace, with move-in anytime between now and July 1, 2026. My budget is $2200-ish (I'm aware of the limit here....). I’m also open to nearby areas like Downtown Brooklyn, Boerum Hill, Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Prospect Heights, Prospect Lefferts, Crown Heights.
If you (or someone you know) are planning to move out during that timeframe, I’d be happy to pay you one month’s rent directly if the apartment is a fit, as a thank-you / moving-cost-cushion. (If the apartment is less than $2k I'll just send you $2k straight.) I’d much rather it go straight to a neighbor than to another broker fee.
