Expedite request denied because no background check done yet??
I am genuinely so confused, I’m not sure if my congressman is bsing me or if the news I got today is genuinely this bizarre.
I submit an expedite request and had my congressman inquire about it, and it got denied for this reason :
“We received your request for expedited processing, but we will not accommodate the
request at this time. All applicants for a U.S. immigration benefit are subject to criminal and
national security background checks to ensure they are eligible for the benefit they are
applying for. We cannot make a decision on your expedite request until we receive the
results of these security checks”
My PR IS NOVEMBER 4 2024. What is even the point of an expedited process if it is pending a background check with absolutely no time frame. I’m truly confused and have no idea what to do
