PSA: Uber Eats drivers paying with their own card on grocery orders is a growing scam

Just experienced this with a grocery order. The driver paid for my entire order using his own credit card instead of charging my card. When several items were wrong/missing and I returned them, the refund went straight to his card, not mine.

This appears to be an intentional scam because:

  • He can deliberately mess up the order (wrong items, missing items) to trigger a refund
  • The refund goes to his card → he gets free money + credit card points/cashback
  • He still gets paid by Uber + keeps his high completion stats

My bank confirmed this type of fraud is becoming common with Uber Eats and DoorDash grocery orders.

How to protect yourself:

  1. Always check the receipt right after delivery to confirm it was charged to your card, not the driver’s.
  2. Do not tip until after you’ve inspected the full order.
  3. Take clear photos of the receipt, items, and any issues.
  4. Screenshot the driver’s info, license plate, and order details in the app.

If something feels off, report it immediately with evidence. Stay safe!

I've been a huge Baby Keem fan since the beginning — listened to all his stuff, and his music has genuinely gotten me through a lot over the years. It's not a bandwagon thing; rap has always been my main thing since I was a kid.

My birthday lines up with the Vancouver date and I really want to go, but my friends aren't into rap like I am. I'd probably have more fun going alone than dragging someone who's not that invested. I don't mind experiencing stuff solo, especially for one of my all-time favorites.

That said, I haven't been to a concert in years. Is it awkward/weird as a 30-year-old woman going alone? Will I be the only girl there by herself? Any other solo attendees or women who go to rap shows — what should I expect?

Also debating VIP — is it lame doing that solo? Feels like I'd just be standing around by myself early. lol. I am I overthinking this or should I just buy the tickets and and have an awesome birthday?
