The thing is landlord's cooler was kept in my room, today he took the cooler back. After half an hour he calls and says that "I' ve given that cooler to another tenant and said it's your cooler(mine) and for which the tenant will pay 700 as rent to me and I'll forward it to him.

The tenant's room is on the same floor as mine. He also said not to disclose to the tenant that the cooler is his. Basically I'm acting as a middleman and the landlord is charging rent in my name.

Please advice what to do, how do I tell the tenant that its not mine and clear my name. I also have a good bonding with the landlord.
