Industry job responsibilities recently post-qualified
Hi guys, I recently interviewed for a financial accountant role where they said it’s highly transactional (AR/AP) and processing invoices etc… the job description when applying had a mix of other things such as supporting month end/statutory accounts/consol (and ap/ar ownership). They said it’ll be like that for a few years and asked if I’m fine with that.
I guess my question is for those who qualified and joined as a financial accountant - were you responsible for AR/AP or mainly overseeing? And is it odd to hire a post qual accountant for this stuff rather than more complex/judgemental areas? The pay is decent just not sure if it’ll hinder my progress if all I’m doing is processing invoices.
Would appreciate some thoughts on this as someone who’s looking to leave audit!
