NP literally misses colorectal cancer

NP has been seeing this mid 60s male for all his visits. Total of 3. Over 6 months. Microcytic anemia every single time. She just spams ferrous sulfate 325. I see the guy next.

Constitutional symptoms. NP never asked him if he ever had a colonoscopy. She didn't. I told him he urgently needs one. He is like 20 years late. He says to me "Dr. Q never said nothing about no colonoscopy". I break the news that "Dr. Q" isn't a real doctor. A nurse practioner that's a DNP. Guy is confused is she a doctor or not. No she isn't a medical doctor.

Digital rectal exam. Hemoccult card is + for blood. Send him to GI. Adenocarcinoma. Fuck.

My fellow TTI survivors, what big cultural changes occurred while you were in TTI?

At dinner with my wife and family the TTI stuff just came up.

One big culture shock to me was Facebook. I was in TTI from 2007 to 2009. Before I was sent to TTI almost everyone use AOL instant messenger or AIM. Facebook was for college students only at that point. We used MySpace and Xanga.

I got out and no one used AIM or MySpace or Xanga. Everything was Facebook. You just used Facebook messenger to chat after that. Was wild to see how things shifted in short time. Plus this drake guy became super famous and I had no clue who he was lol. My cheap Asian parents finally got high speed internet too because it became affordable. Everyone had north face jackets. It was all the sudden cool to have above knee shorts. Cargo shorts were unacceptable. Lots of little things.

What big things happened that you missed out on?

TTI utilization of the Kapo system

For those of you not aware, the Kapo system is a system the Nazis used in concentration camps.

>The Kapo system or "prisoner functionaries" was an insidious Nazi mechanism of control designed to pit concentration camp inmates against one another, effectively outsourcing the brutality of the SS to victims. By forcing inmates to supervise fellow prisoners, the Nazis maintained control over large populations with minimal staff, creating a "self-sustaining" system. This system allowed the SS to manage large inmate populations with minimal staff, offering Kapos privileges like better food, housing, and survival chances. The Nazis preffered the Kapos to be of the criminal class, but towards the end of the war Jewish and political prisoners were becoming kapos.

In both of my TTI programs, it seemed like their programs were influenced by the Kapo system. There were always kids who were put in "leadership" roles that were treated better and had better accommodations than everyone else. They acted as adjunct staff of the program. Often more strict and brutal compared to actual staff. They usually would be the first to snitch on you. They were the staffs main henchmen.

Did anyone else programs have kapos or a kapo system? When I was court ordered to Teen Challenge they were called "emerging leaders program". At teen challenge they had a hard on for thugs and tough guys. These guys were usually fast tracked as emerging leaders. In my other program which was a bootcamp these guys would be given corporal rank. They also preffered the ghetto tough guys/thugs to give these positions to. You would never see these kapo roles given to a white suburban kid for example. Only the street thug/tough guy types.
