I’d really appreciate some advice about reporting power analysis in linear regression (psychology bachelor thesis).

I first used G*Power to estimate sample size with:

Linear multiple regression (fixed model, R² increase),f² = 0.15 (medium effect), Power = 0.90

After collecting data, I ran a sensitivity analysis (“compute required effect size”) using my actual sample size and predictors. It gave me f² = 0.08, meaning that’s the smallest effect my sample should be able to detect.

Is it okay to report this kind of post hoc sensitivity analysis in a paper? Or id it a bad practice?

I’m thinking of including it in the discussion to give context to the results, but I’m not sure how acceptable this is.
