Help! My snail died and I don't know why

my glass snail Eerie recently died. she had been sitting in the same spot for about 2 days. I assumed it was her usual napping but I checked on her today and when I picked her up, I noticed small white bugs scattering and her shell was empty. I haven't noticed the bugs before and I'm not sure if they were the cause of her death or if they were simply attracted to her body after death. when I picked her up her shell was extremely brittle and chipped easily. I provide calcium in the form of cuttlebone and I am unsure if it is a result of death or a deficiency.

I am honestly panicking, not just for the loss of Eerie but because I also have a garden snail in a separate terrarium and I am afraid it may be something I can spread to her (ie the bugs). any advice is appreciated

extra details: I kept her on coco coir and leaf litter. she was on a diet of primarily carrot and broccoli supplemented with salt free cuttlebone. I misted her enclosure once a day. The weather has also been hectic where I live. it has been fluctuating from high 70F to 30F and snowing. I noticed during these changes both my snails had grown sluggish but maintained their appetite
