I’m planning to buy a Mac mini since my MacBook Air (Mid 2017) is starting to feel outdated. I’d prefer getting the latest version available, so I was wondering — when would be the best time to buy one?

Also, is there any chance an M5 Mac mini could release soon, or is that still far away?

I’m planning to buy a Mac (either a MacBook or Mac Mini) mainly for AI filmmaking workflows — generating images/video, running local models, and experimenting with tools like ComfyUI, Stable Diffusion, etc.
Right now I’m using Kling for video generation, but I want to start exploring more local workflows as well.
For those of you already doing this on macOS, what should I prioritize when choosing a machine?
How important is unified memory (16GB vs 32GB vs 64GB)?
Do GPU cores on Apple Silicon make a big difference for local inference?
Any limitations I should know about vs using an NVIDIA setup?
Storage considerations for models/assets?
MacBook vs Mac Mini — does thermals/performance differ significantly for long runs?
Basically trying to avoid buying something I’ll outgrow in a year 😅

Right now my dialogue sounds slightly different each time, even with the same prompts. Are you using voice cloning, external tools, or some kind of reference setup?
