Stage 3 (semi rigid rod + implants) 2 weeks post op
Rod 2 week update. Had my 2nd and final post op with Dr Chen (virtual). Swelling has gone way down! My incisions are healing great so far (2nd photo). For reference I’m 5’3 with thick thighs (185lbs) and pre op I was 4.75 x 4.5
Pain: Pain is around 1-3/10 depending on my activity. I had to take pain killers the 1st 5 days but by days 4 and 5 I think I only took one a day in the evening and supplemented with Advil (I can’t take Tylenol). Then I think day 6-10 I was taking Advil as needed, usually when I woke up or before going to bed.
Work: Had surgery Friday and took that Friday and Monday completely off work. Remote Tues-Fri of the 1st week after surgery. Week 2 I was back in office. Pain was ok, it was more trying to hide my boner in my pants comfortably. I do have my own office so it was easier, if I was in a cube like most people in my building I’m sure I would have wanted a few more days remote. If you can I would really suggest taking 1-2 weeks off and not worrying about it at all but if you can’t it’s doable.
Positioning: Before surgery I was under the assumption I was not going to be able to bend my dick for the first 4-6 weeks and that I was going to be stuck with a full erection. Thankfully that is not accurate! I can bend my dick as long as I hold the base securely and pack down (up or down is fine, down is what works for me) and I’m not stuck at 90 degrees or anything. I do have to prop so it’s closer to a 45 degree angle just like stage 1.
I feel like there’s not always a lot of love for the Rod on here so I want to share for those interested. I can’t believe how much this has made me love my dick even more. Didn’t think it was possible and honestly I was on the fence for a while about getting stage 3. My wife is just as excited and we’re counting down the days to week 8 when I’m fully released to “use it” as Dr Chen said haha!
