Just need to vent
Hey everyone,
I just had my first unpleasant encounter in about 17 years and I need to share this because I'm still surprised.
The setting: KR T2 in a random group. I'm on my tank and remember the group leader from a run I did earlier this week. Back then, he asked me to tank the first to bosses close together so that the DDs could do better AOE. Back then, I did larger circles with the utugi because I feel more comfortable this way. So, this time, again, he sets the target on the lady ... and, as back then, is dead five seconds into the fight. Maybe I didn't get the Aggro, I don't know. We reset after the second DD dies. On the second try, I make sure to keep both bosses on me and close together. But for some reason, I die after maybe one minute despite full fortfication and an overall stable situation. The group leader says something like "that's it, show is over" and leaves the group. I left as well which, in hindsight, wasn't such a great move.
So, this happens. It's a random group. T2 is, for many players including myself, not too hard but also not trivial. But then, the former group leader feels the urge to PM me, saying that he himself couldn't believe that I as a raid-geared tank died on T2 and that he could do this without a healer. I'd like to doubt that but whatever. I ask what exactly he wants to tell me but he's already offline. Maybe he logged on his tank to run this without a healer. I don't care and put him on ignore. That's the second time in 17 years that I've done this (not counting the gold sellers that once used to spam world chat).
What I want to say: You don't have to continue with any group that doesn't meet your expectations. You can leave anytime you want, even without saying anything, even with some snarky remark on low damage or heal as your last words. But, please, don't try to make anyone feel bad for their performance with so much effort that you send them a PM and logging off imediately after.
And just to add, I don't feel bad for my tanking. I was just baffled by such a behaviour.
Thanks for reading!
