Specialist said not to worry about gastritis

Sorry for wall of text, really wanting to share my Wife's (33f) experience over the past year.

My wife started having side pains June of last year. Got bad enough I took her to ER and they told her she had Gastritis and sent her home. I immediately started shopping and cooking gastritis friendly meals and notices a huge improvement. I also have had long ongoing stomach issues (IBS I think but haven't been to a dr for it in 10+years) and was amazed how much healthier and happier my stomach was doing on this diet as well.

Wife followed up with her regular dr who told her the she didn't have gastritis and hospitals say gastritis when they don't know what it is. Told her to do a low fat low carb diet, so wife start eating normal food I think grapes and within 30min is having very strong side pain again. They do some tests and rule out gall stones.

We finally get a specialist after more labs and ruling out other things. When we go to the specialist (MR S) he point blanks says "you do not have gastritis" but I will have you do an endoscopy just in case. So after some month long delays she finally has her endoscopy and in the discharge paper work is says enflamed stomach and gastritis and also inflamed esophagus. Wait another month to go over results with specialist MR S and he say she has acid reflux and prescribes her a prescription for acid suppression for 1 year and take Metamucil. Never even mentions gastritis until I bring it up that the endoscopy results said she has gastritis and he said " you do have it but it wasn't of importance" says stay away from high fat food especially at night 3hrs before you got to bed. I asked again about if she should stay away from any food due to gastritis and MR S says "gastritis is not an issue at all" I was honestly a little shocked that MR S disregard for gastritis but my wife was happy he said she can have a cup of coffee again and start eating spicy food.

Its been about a month since then, eating out several times a week and not cooking nearly as healthy. My wife side pain has come back and she feels it everyday. I'm pushing her to get a second opinion. Wondering if anyone else has similar experiences.

How important is planting natives within their native range? Fresno CA

Hi CA native plant enjoyers! Really love your sub.

I have noticed on Calscape the range of many native plants are nearby where I live, Fresno CA, but not actually in their range. How important is the native range to you and what would you consider the above range for narrow leaf milkweed close enough for growing in Fresno?

Slowly getting more natives in my yard that was only dirt and grass 3 years ago and have been loving seeing more birds and insects in my yard.
