Self Leveling Compound loose chunks
A few months ago I had SLC poured on my 2nd floor plywood subfloor
I'm in the process of installing floating LVP overtop but the process is going slow, so it's just been the concrete for 2-3 months
On the original install, the contractor used primer, sealed the plywood gaps, installed a metal mesh, and then poured
However a few days after it cured, he came back to feather out the end of the pour further into the bedroom. This extra feathering did not have a lathe
--------
I had been noticing a few hairline cracks, but the floor still sounds solid and bonded. However, on the feather, I noticed a lot more cracks forming, and there were a few loose islands
Chipping the loose chunks away, I noticed all of the loose material is overtop a plywood seam
The material in that spot was about 1.5 nickels thick (maybe 3mm?)
I will attach a photo shortly, but I wanted to hear insights into what can be done to patch this properly? Would it be a mistake to use the same SLC? Do I just need to apply it thicker in that spot? Do I need to first do any work sealing the plywood there? Is there a point where it's fine to just put the LVP overtop?
Thanks much
