Hi everyone,

I’m visiting Albania (soon) for around 2.5 days. I’m trying to decide where it’s better to stay overnight for about 2 days: Himarë or Sarandë.

My main priority is the beach, perhaps relaxing and maybe visiting nearby spots. I’m wondering which area has better beaches overall: Himarë or Sarandë/Ksamil?

If I stay in Sarandë, I was thinking I could visit Ksamil Beach and Blue Eyes as well. But I’ve also heard that Himarë has really beautiful beaches and might be more relaxed.

Since my time is quite short and I come from Tirana, which one would you recommend as a base for a short beach trip and especially for the better beach experience? Himarë or Sarandë/Ksamil?

I’d love to hear your thoughts, especially from people who have been to both. Thank you!

I’m a beach person, but I don’t drive, so I’ll rely on buses/public transportation. Is it worth going all the way to Himarë for just one beach day, or should I choose a closer beach like in Vlorë or Golem?

I’m also curious about beach in Golem and Vlöre. Is it nice and relaxing, or more like Barceloneta beach in Barcelona? Is Himarë much more beautiful than Vlorë/Golem, enough to justify the long trip?

I’m also considering Berat and a little bit of Tirana, but I’m worried it might be too rushed.
