Need help/guidance on planting a flower bed
Hi all! I’m a veggie gardener but want to try setting up a flower bed under my homemade bird bath, but I don’t know how to plan and execute it… there’s so much to choose from but I also don’t know where to go to even know what’s suitable (I’m in cool temperate)
What I want: I’m wanting something that’s low maintenance and full all year but has bursts of gorgeous surprises, like: I know I really want calla lillies and tulips. I love unique/different and would love multiple colours like a bed of rainbow. I’m thinking plants of different heights, like a ground cover, and up, etc. calla lillies blooming through the stump roots would be stunning I reckon.
I don’t know where to start and how to do it, tulip bulbs are purchasable now but I couldn’t find calla lilly bulbs for sale/not available yet, bunnings have potted ones right now but they’re $27 each.
I struggle a lot with decisions… I’d love to do this but I’m finding it really overwhelming getting anywhere, even just getting started, I need to feel confident in a plan before taking action; unfortunately I’m not the type of person to just do something, hope it works and deal with it if it doesn’t.
