Extreme Conditions Demand Extreme Solutions

Due to my work schedule, my preference to prioritize sleep and willingness to run no matter what, I often find myself running in adverse weather, and Singapore's weather in early May can be harsh. It was 32°C that morning, with high humidity and clear sky, so it felt like 37°C. I wanted to do my first long run since my last half-marathon, so I brought out my best thermal resistance gear. I call it my 'sunrunner' outfit.

In general, I wear white or very light colours to deflect thermal radiation, and synthetic material that are highly breathable and wicks sweat well.

From top to bottom:

Decathlon/Forclaz Desert Cap: Able to shield the head, face and neck from the sun. The neck flaps are useful.

Decathlon Headband: I wear a headband underneath the cap to help control sweat.

Hilx Samurai Sunglasses: Best out of all my sunglasses for a day like this due to sweatband and wide coverage.

Shokz OpenMove: Some music could act as metronome and motivates me.

DrSkin Compression Singlet: Korean brand. Good material for sweat wicking.

3M Arm Sleeves: Right side covers up to the knuckles. 3M is well-known for reliability.

Anta Wristband: Good for wiping sweat off my face.

Garmin 570 Watch: Very good for recording all stats on running.

Government Fitness Band: Rewards points for healthy living that I use to redeem isotonic drinks or others.

DrSkin Compressiom Shorts: Worn underneath for compression, anti-chaffing and sweat-wicking.

Decathlon Running Shorts: Has zipped pockets, good for storing my personal effects, or gels during races.

Unbranded Chinese leg sleeves: very thin, mainly good for deflecting radiation while being very breathable.

DrSkin Marathon Socks: Thick underneath, good for a tough, long day of running.

Hoka Bondi 9 (Wide): Max stack trainers, good for a long run. The colourway chosen is intentional.
