Is this enough thermal paste for a brand new Legion 5 Pro?

Model: Legion 5 Pro r9 8945hx, 32gb, 5060

Describe the issue: Temps hitting 102-109C. Major discrepancy in temps between cores.

Is this enough thermal paste looks like barely there ?

i can more images if they help getting more insights into what's missing/wrong

Is my brand new Legion 5 Pro broken? Cinebench stress test

Model : Legion 5 Pro

Description:

Hey everyone,

My new Lenovo Legion 5 Pro arrived yesterday with the AMD Ryzen 9 8945HX, 32gb, 5060.

On running Cinebench

Laptop: Lenovo Legion 5 Pro (AMD Ryzen 9 8945HX)

Room Temperature: ~30°C

Plugged in, set to Performance Mode

Cinebench 2026 ( MS Store) Multi-Thread throttling test on a 10-minute loop.

Monitoring on HWiNFO64

The Results & The Problem:

Cinebench score of 3396 , is this decent? hard to come across a sure answer for 2026 version scores.

The PC on the outer looked to be working just fine, no crashes or BSOD.

Max CPU Temp (Tctl/Tdie): Hit a peak of 106°C and hovered above 102°C for most of the test.

The Core Delta (The major red flag): There was a massive 26.1°C temperature difference between my hottest physical core and my coolest physical core under a sustained 100% load. Does it matter that the the big spread is between CCD1 and CCD2 — not between cores on the same die. On the same die it is around 12C. Does it mean the heat sink is warped?

clock speeds were around 1.5k mhz to 3k mhz, and sometimes for a few cores fell to sub 1k mhz

Thermal Throttling (HTC) and PROCHOT flags in HWiNFO stayed at "No" the entire time

My Question:

Given that 26.1°C delta between physical cores alongside the sub-1GHz clock crashes, is it safe to say this is a botched factory paste/PTM application or a physically warped heatsink? I know 30°C ambient is warm, but that delta means half the die isn't making contact, right?

Should I just immediately pack this up and return it? Would be a big shame bcz it took a while to be delivered and I won't get the same great deal I got on this.

I can share the CSV log if it helps.

Thanks in advance for the help!

PS : photos ar from running Cinebench and Unigine Valley simultaneously after the first test.
