Grand Concourse At Night - The Bronx

I decided to try out night time photography. I took a picture at the intersection of Grand Concourse and Fordham Avenue in the Bronx. The Grand Concourse is a major road that runs north and south through The Bronx. It covers a distance of 5.2 miles (8.4 km).

This is Starlight Park in the Bronx.

Starlight Park was an amusement park with rollercoasters, pools, and other concessions, opened in 1920. By the 1930s, the park was in decline and finally closed in the 1940s.

The facility became the property of Consolidated Edison Company and was used as a standby plant for gas storage until it was sold to the City in 1945 to be turned into an expressway and park.

The Bronx River Greenway passes through this park. It is a nice place to walk or ride a bicycle through.
