Has anyone else had issues with World Gym ignoring cancellation requests?
I’ve been trying to cancel my membership with the World Gym Barrie location and I’m honestly at a loss at this point. I’ve followed the proper steps and I’m still being ignored.
I requested cancellation and sent a written letter that was tracked and confirmed as delivered on April 2nd. I’ve also tried reaching out through email multiple times, but I’ve either been ignored completely or told over the phone that staff “can’t help” me with cancellations.
The reason I cancelled is because I went in one time and multiple machines were broken with no signage or warning that they were out of order or unsafe. There was nothing indicating they were being repaired or even acknowledged as broken, which felt very different from other gyms I’ve been to where equipment is clearly marked when it’s down.
On top of that, the facility was dirty, and everything felt extremely cramped and squished together, which made the overall experience uncomfortable and not what I expected.
I’m just wondering if anyone else has dealt with similar issues at this location or with World Gym in general when trying to cancel, and how you got it resolved.
