Hi everyone,

My first year of car insurance is coming to an end soon, and I’m a bit confused about how to handle my No Claims Bonus when renewing or buying a new policy.

A few questions:

  1. Can I get quotes now for a new policy that starts the day after my current policy ends?

  2. Since I’ll only earn my first year of NCB once the current policy fully ends, can I still say I’ll have 1 year NCB on the new policy start date?

  3. If I buy the new policy around 30 days in advance, is it okay to enter 1 year NCB if the policy starts after my current policy ends?

  4. Do insurers care about the NCB at the time of purchase, or at the start date of the new policy?

  5. Could this be considered incorrect or misleading information?

  6. What proof of NCB would I need to provide, and when would I usually receive it?

  7. Has anyone done this before when switching insurers after their first year?

  8. Should I care about the NCB, if I am happy with quotes that have a premium only about £60-£70 bucks cheaper than what I paid last year?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Just give me your opinions on what you see. My concern is this a normal car from 2015?

Is there any signs of bad maintenance?

Any recommendations?
