I am the type of shopper that buys from farmers market and grocers based on what produce and protein looks fresh and gets me excited to cook that week.
The problem is by the mid-week, my options seem limited, and by the end of the week, things are expiring and I have no idea what to make. I either half-ass something to use it up, or it ends up in the bin.
I decided to build something to fix it. MiseCook tracks your fridge, freezer, and pantry, suggests meals based on what's expiring first, and reminds you about things buried in the freezer you have forgotten about.
I know this is not a new concept, but from what I have tried, none of them seem to work that well, have meh UX and generally a lot of friction with keeping the app updated.
I have tried my best to reduce that friction with simple gestures, receipt recognition for post-shopping entry, and less strict parameters for quantities.
I am launching free on iOS soon.
