Won’t A/B testing cause issues in initial seed audience

Title: not a video post Summary: not a post about a specific video but rather how thumbnail testing works

I’ve never A/B tested thumbnails/titles but won’t it result in different audiences clicking the video. Does the algorithm push the video to the audience with a higher CTR + thumbnail on its own? Or does it kill the video and you take a hit on video performance but long-term it’s beneficial for understanding your target audience better
