Thoughts on the V5.3HR+ (upgraded from 5.3TB)

I’ve been using the v5.3HR+ for a bit now as a daily driver. I previously had the 5.3TB version, so I wanted to see if the upgrade was actually worth it

The build is solid, case has some weight to it and the hinge feels sturdy enough for daily use. The metal accents on the back are actually decent and don’t look like cheap plastic

Sound wise, it's a step up from the TB batch. I had to tweak the EQ a little bit to get it where I liked it, but once that was done, it sounded clean. I haven't run into any issues with background static or floor noise on my unit.

The ANC is okay for the price. It's definitely better than the old version and feels a bit more natural when it’s on. I don’t use transparency mode much, but it seems to do the job without sounding too artificial.

Battery life has been the biggest surprise, it actually lasts thru my work day and the case holds a charge well. I use these with my mac and the device switching has been pretty smooth so far, which was the main thing I was looking for

it’s a decent option if you’re looking for a low-key pair that actually plays nice with the apple ecosystem

I don’t have the retail airpods, so I’m just comparing these to my buds FE, DT 770 Pros, and some Sony headphones I have. The build is decent and has some weight to it, but the hinge feels a little bit loose when it's closed

The sound had some issues when I first got them. I had to mess with the EQ and do some troubleshooting, but they sound alright now. There was a weird buzzing sound when nothing was playing, but I managed to fix most of it.

All the features like touch controls and transparency work fine. The noise canceling is okay, nothing crazy but it does the job.

Let me know if you guys have any questions and I’ll try to answer them in the comments.
