I'm so tired of botox being labeled as some miracle treatment with little risk
If I could do anything it would be to go back in time and tell my past self to not get this procedure. Everyone on here saying it's the best thing they've ever done and telling people "JUST GET THE BOTOX YOUR LIFE WILL BE COMPLETELY CHANGED!!!!" and rcpd doctors claiming there's no reason not to just do it considering it's "temporary".
Well yep my life has been completely changed. I have all of my original symptoms plus a new and fun one of two years of not being able to breathe properly every single minute of the day and nearly $15k in the hole. I can safely say this has been the worst decision I have ever made. No RCPD doctor gives a shit to help me, and just shrugs as to why I am struggling to breathe and yawn (plus burp as well of course). They got their check, on to the next sucker. That or having the audacity to tell me to do it again for the 4th fucking time.
Every non "certified" doctor on the list I have been to often looks at me in horror asking why I got so much botox in my throat (using the "recommended" BVI 100 units) and is rightfully claiming that the botox likely spread to somewhere else in my throat and caused paralysis that has resulted in this new dysfunction. And given I have exhausted all the specialists in this area who have no idea what it is this is now a permanent problem I will have for life.
This "treatment" is not the panacea that everyone wants it to be. I just hope I can save one other person since my life is already over.
