Any training advice?
Hi, this is Atlas. A coworker and I found him running up my street over a month ago. I ran his chip and it linked back to someone who said it was his son's dog but they had rehomed him when he was younger and that they would try to contact the new owners. Radio silence since then. According to his chip, he is 4 years old. He's underweight and unfixed, and completely untrained. I've owned a GSP once before, but never one with this intense of a prey drive. I am planning on getting him fixed, but I'm struggling a bit with his prey drive. He gets along well with my other dogs (mostly) but is like hyper fixated on my cats. I have tried training him in the backyard, but there's a window that leads to the finished basement area where the cats are, and he just constantly fixates on that. He's also very destructive (which I do know comes from boredom, we're working on it). But we're not hunters. I've tried running him through the agility course we have for my border collie, but he doesn't seem very interested.
