Do Americans dream of traveling or settling abroad (excluding Japan) like others dream of the U.S?

I’ve always been curious about this.

A lot of people from other countries grow up dreaming about visiting or even settling in the U.S

it’s often seen as a big destination with a lot of opportunities and cultural influence

So I was wondering, for Americans, what countries do you personally dream of traveling to or even settling in?

What non-English shows or movies do Americans watch (excluding anime)?

I’m curious about what people in the US watch apart from Hollywood or English-language shows dubbed into English.

Also not including anime.

Do you watch content from other countries?

How do you feel about white people appropriating hindu culture and claiming hindu dieties are not indian

A few months back on twitter a white person had an entire account dedicated to hindu deities, and the person had an X post claiming that "Krishna is not india" what I feel about this is that Krishna indeed belongs to everybody but making a claim like "not India" comes of a bit disrespectful

The account had also posted other deities which were depicted like a white person with blonde hair with a white robe claiming to be mata saraswati

Another incident that recently surfaced was in some satsang/pravachan conducted somewhere in mathura or haridwar (not sure about the location) that a bunch of non-indians blocking hindus to attend the satsang/pravachan

What are your takes on this??

What stance should Hindus adopt regarding this?

Is anti-Indian racism becoming normalized in the United States?

I just watched this video from the Frisco City Council meetings that's been going around, and honestly, I was really disappointed. Someone made some super racist comments during their speech, and no one there said anything. Everyone just sat and watched.

Got scammed by IITH(I guess)

After filling the MTECH application form I made a payment through upi,the amount was deducted from my account

But at the end of the application form the receipt gets added automatically after the payment, but in my case the receipt wasn't added.

I even waited for 2 days expecting that money would be added back to my account by bank, but it didn't happen

I emailed them and they replied to me saying to check receipt that would've been made available for the download. I logged in and out multiple times and it didn't pop up at all.

I called them, and a person picked up the phone and i explained the situation, now he in a very harsh tone told me to logout and clear cache (I had already done it 100 times)

And again called him back told him nothing happened and he again in a very rude tone said "then you must contact your bank" and cuts the call

I was kinda disappointed at this cuz i already had a statement that you get right after you make a upi payment saying the transaction was successful

I literally had to pay double the amount in order to submit the application

Did anyone else face the same problem with iith or any other iits??

Bangalore Locals—How Would You Rate Your Interactions With Migrants (0–10)?

Not trying to be rude or target anyone here.

I’ve seen a lot of posts where people move to different cities and share their experiences or even rate the place and the locals.

So I was wondering—why not hear it from the other side as well?

As a local in Bangalore, I’m curious how others feel about their day-to-day interactions with migrants in the city.

I've had interaction with ppl from most states since my childhood, I'm gonna start rating them on a scale of 0-10

TELUGUS- Most telugus have been nice to me, they easily blend with the local culture as their culture is almost similar to us. they learn kannada easily too. (9/10)

GUJRATIS - I've had a gujrati Neighbours they were one of the sweetest ppl ive ever met. They used to invite me to all their birthday parties. Even though the south Indian language seems difficult to them, my friend and his father used to speak decent kannada. (8.5/10)

RAJASTHANIS- what amuses me is that all the Rajasthanis that I've met since childhood could speak fluent kannada i mean all of them. One of my friends was a Rajasthani and her father was a carpenter and he fixed my broken desk for free, He even refused money when we offered him. But the ones that run the electrical shops around bengaluru come off a bit rude sometimes (8/10)

BENGALIS- one of my favourite teachers was a Bengali and she also happens to be the neighbour of my grandparents. She was always nice to me but

the Bengalis don't seem to interact much with the locals and also don't put much effort in learning the local language or culture despite staying here for more than a decade(7/10)

THE HINDI SPEAKING STUDENTS AT UNIVERSITYS (don't know whether to count them as migrants):

They are the most privileged ppl ive ever seen in my entire life, Once in my college a professor accidentally used a few kannada words while teaching and the girl from the crowd shouted "english pls no kannada" it was so awkward and disrespectful it's not like he was teaching the entire subject in the local language.(3/10)

THE TECH PPL: these are the very recent arrivals to bengaluru. Not all but a significant number of them are always complaining about the traffic, don't respect the locals, expect everybody to speak in hindi and live in a delusion that they are the only ones contributing to the economy of the state and city.(2/10)

MALAYALIS: never had any problem with them. One of my math teachers was a malayali she was always sweet. Most of them are always respectful (9/10)

TAMILS: haven't had much interaction with them but Very unproblematic and respectful to locals (8/10)

How would you describe or rate your experiences?
