So I just found out about Cowichan sweaters, how Mary Maxim sweaters are effectively imitation Cowichan designs, and that the Cowichan people/knitters dislike the appropriation of their craft and designs.

I would like to whether it is possible to buy a pattern from a Cowichan designer. the project Hail Mary sweater enchanted me unfortunately but having discovered the origins of the design, I am interested in supporting the Indigenous people whose artistry have been overlooked. (I live in Africa so it is not possible for me to buy a sweater directly.)
