Second doubts

I am going to Bali with my husband in June!! We’ve saved up so much to be able to plan our first SEA trip and I was so excited up until recently. I feel like recently all I see is the most negative stuff about Bali… how it’s boring, a huge tourist trap, instagram click bait etc.

Honestly just second guessing everything.

I’m 5’9, 26, female. I’ve never tracked my calories before 10 days ago. I used to eat whenever and whatever I wanted. I stayed almost consistently at 160-162 lbs. I’ve been working out consistently since November (weight lifting 2-3x a week HEAVY + cardio 3 miles running and more recently, stairs for 30 min) 2x a week. Sprinkle in some days where I go on walks for about an hour.

I weighed myself for the first time in months a few weeks ago and saw that even though my activity levels are higher and I’m lifting and feel better, I was still around 160. I decided to start counting my calories. I did an online TDEE and it said I should be around 1900 calories a day. I would log my food and workouts in in My Fitness Pal and sometimes it would say I can eat more calories bc of my workout calories.

I weighed myself this morning right out of bed and I am 166. I have never been this high in my life, even with my worst eating habits and a much more sedentary life style. Im genuinely distraught and would love to hear what you guys think I’m doing wrong. My goal is to lose 1-2lb a week. I just want to be at 150.

Me and my husband are due for a much needed fun trip! We booked for end of June/beginning of July. Let us know what you think of our itinerary? We don’t drink but like liveliness, activities, etc.

Day 1-2-3-4: Ubud
Day 5-6-7: travel and do Komodo islands
Day 8-9-10-11: we have a hotel in Seminyak booked because we think it’s a good middle point between everything we want to see in south bali, like day trip to uluwatu, nusa penida, not sure what else we can do in Seminyak area, let us know your recommendations or if we should stay elsewhere!

Also, I want to avoid doing tours especially in ubud. I’d rather hire a driver and just do 1-2 things a day (like the monkey forest + swing, for example). How expensive would this be? Any driver recommendations?
