Ik art fight is meant to be fun but I'm overly competitive. So here's me trying to find how to make the most points out of my art (more in body text)

I have colour coded my canvas sizes:

💚 Green = All the time

💛 Yellow = Sometimes

❤️ Red = Almost never

Blank = Never used

My size does fluctuate because I like making everything as tight as possible but this is a general look. If I do decide to animate I'm forced to do 1:1 because I don't have the paid stuff.

I often draw like the example on the left. Minimum shading with filters depending on the piece.

Though I do enjoy shading like the example on the right so whilst it'll take a little longer it's not like I'm making myself miserable to get extra points.

And does having filters change your points in anyway or does it not matter?

Potentially racist colouring choice (more in body text)

I make a bunch of MLP oc's and often see them as specific skin colours.

But I always viewd this one OC (the Child) as purposely disturbing and scary so always imagined her as having greyed out skin but realised that could definitely come off the wrong way (people thinking I'm white washing)

So thought to ask you guys if i should keep a more realistic skin or if the greyed out version is fine given context or just completely a no go

Keep in mind the character could be made potentially more greyed out since I didn't have her whole colour pallet to visualise it with

Need some help drawing nice moon themed jewellery (more in body text)

I've done at least two versions but apart from the shoes it just looks really ugly especially when compared to the last images jewellery.

Am I being harsh on myself or is the jewellery actually bad 😔 and if so how can I improve it?

I know people are talking about other important rules rn but I've always been curious about this one

I do not plan to break this rule or encourage others to break this rule but apart from just respecting the spirit of the game is there any reason to follow this rule?

Obviously it's a valid rule but if you make a sketch/plan beforehand how can mods/other people tell you did that? Unless you decide to post about it.

Is there some sort of system that can tell what day you made the art when you're uploading it or something along those lines?

I've seen a lot of criticism about how SFAWTDE and DAWTDE are more a mockumentory / other stuff that isn't an ARG I don't know if it's fair criticism or just doging on something that's popular.

But I'm making a very story focused ARG like SFAWTDE with a thew puzzles around and I don't want to incorrectly label something as an ARG when it's not.

Is there something I can do to make it more of an ARG?

I'm remaking my protagonist's skin.

For one of them I got the idea of having a skeleton trapped in slime only having this skin because he teaches kids with the help of minecraft.

But!

The problem is he's a Chemistry teacher so being a skeleton makes no real sense unless I somehow sneak in the unimportant lore he shares a classroom.

Wgat do you guys think? Is explaining the skin even important?

Was making a piece and saw the brush Impasto Brush - Flat.

I thought I accidentally watched an ad but nope 100% free. It's basically a highlighter but I've got to find a way to use this in a piece!

I'm making an ARG that is connected with two other ones and I think it'll be really fun if you get a random message decipher it and it says something along the lines of "you don't need this yet" but then when you watch the connecting ARG it says something lore relevant.

I'm assuming it would have to roughly be the same length but if there is anyway to change don't to do and stuff along that line that'd be cool too
