Image 1 — I’ve been doing leathercraft since graduating, so fur carving isn’t too difficult for me anymore. Coloring is the part that really makes the difference.

[OC] I spent 26+ hours carving this cat. The 1.2mm veg-tan leather captured every tiny fur detail I could imagine

After I shared this piece, so many of you reached out asking how it was made and requesting a full process video.

I truly appreciate all the support and interest 🖤

As promised, I’ve now put together the complete tutorial showing the full carving process of this cat portrait on 1.2mm veg-tan leather.

Every fur strand, texture, and shadow was built layer by layer, and I hope this video helps you better understand my process.

You can find the full tutorial video right below this post.

[OC] I spent 26+ hours carving this husky. I’m still amazed how the 1.2mm veg-tan leather held every whisker and fur detail.

I hand-carved this custom leather cat portrait from a photo shared by its human

A friend shared this adorable cat photo with me, and I decided to turn it into a custom leather carving. I worked carefully on every detail—the fur, the eyes, even the little whiskers—to capture the cat’s personality. It’s always so fun to see a beloved pet come to life in leather!

[OC] A closer look at the 20+ hours of work. Still amazed the 1.2mm veg-tan held up to this much detail.

Just finished some of my recent leather pet sculptures 🐾 (I might be a hardcore pet lover)

Hi everyone! I recently finished some of my leather pet sculptures and wanted to share them here.

Each piece is handcrafted with attention to detail, aiming to capture the personality of each pet.

(I might be a hardcore pet lover myself 🐶🐱, so working on these has been such a joy!)

I’d love to hear what you think, or which one is your favorite. If you have a pet you’d love to see turned into a leather sculpture, feel free to share – I always enjoy hearing pet stories!

Thanks for checking them out!
