Lowkey feel catfished

Was expecting an epic love story crossing time and space (like the LADS myths) but I ended up getting bored. First, there's no stakes, she hit it off with someone who might be from a past life. We never get a sense that these are soulmates. The only sense of urgency would be the desire to figure out what the dreams mean but we keep getting sidetracked about things I don't care about. First she's apparently so broke she can't afford to stay in london for two days so she needs a find a job so we spend a bit job hunting. Then she chaperones a college test. Then the story grinds to a halt to focus on this random girl who cheated on the test that we only knew for five seconds.

So far we barely seen anything about the past life. And not in a mysterious way, just in a way that feels bare bones.

no hate to the author btw, out of tone is amazing.

Fellow authors, what do you do when you're too tired to be creative?

I'm so burnt out writing essays for school every few days that I can't really focus on my story. the thing is, I don't like taking forever to update- it's not fair for my readers but I can't force myself or what I make won't be very good.

ss from "out of tone" I thought the headwrap and sunglasses were clever to I ss so I could steal it.
