the leland question...
i'm rewatching the original run, and i noticed that as leland is dying, he says that he doesn't remember doing any of what he did. however, in FWWM, it's pretty clear that he did know what he was doing. so... was he lying?** i wouldn't put it past him, but tbh he seemed to be more genuine as he was dying than any of his other "grieving" moments earlier in the show. also, i don't understand why he would be lying at that point...if he's about to die, what does it matter? i guess it makes him more sympathetic to the public if his actions are written off as insanity, but again, why would leland/BOB care about that?
**edit to add: the secret diary also really makes it seem like he knew the whole time...
