Light ice.
I work at a very high volume specialty cafe in nyc and I’m genuinely so curious why so many people ask for light ice (this is excluding eastern Asian ppl). It’s so frustrating because we prepare our drinks with very specific specs consider cup size and ice and then our drinks get a cream piped on them. So when someone orders light ice the cup doesn’t fill all the way and it harder to pipe the cream/ it looks bad. These drinks are like $15 so I feel awkward handing someone a half filled cup. Light ice makes no sense, the ice will melt faster and make the drink more watery. Do ppl think we will give them more drink? I usually end up pouring extra milk to make up for the difference and then it’s screws to the recipe making it too milky. Idk any insight on this? Again drives me nuts
