Lady Steel ; my flavor of the flying brick archetype
Lady Steel Powers and Abilities:
Quantum Distortion Field (QDF): An invisible paraphysical field surrounding Lady Steel that makes local reality behave as if it were optional; within an indeterminate radius, physical laws bend or fail in ways that favor her intent rather than obeying normal rules.
Reality-Biased Strength: Instead of “lifting” things in the conventional sense, Corina’s QDF neutralizes mass, inertia, and structural resistance around what she’s interacting with, allowing her to move or halt objects of effectively incalculable mass as if they weigh nothing.
Invulnerability and Energy Immunity: The field causes incoming force, heat, radiation, and exotic energies to dissipate, slip around her, or simply fail to couple with her body; she has survived conditions that liquefy surrounding steel and stone without cellular damage. This apparent invulnerability is filtered through her own expectations; surface burns, ripped fur, torn clothes, and visible, near-instantaneous muscle repair have occurred when her mind decides that is what “should” be happening, but pain and lasting harm do not land, making this a sort of unconscious side effect.
Intention-Based Flight: Lady Steel flies by decoupling herself from gravity, inertia, and friction inside the QDF; movement becomes an act of will rather than the result of thrust, letting her start, stop, and turn with impossible precision.
Spatial Anchoring: When she chooses to hold her ground, the field effectively “pins” her position in space; she cannot be meaningfully pushed, thrown, or knocked back, regardless of the scale of force applied.
Selective Causality: In peak states, Corina appears to bypass events already in progress: arriving “inside” a moment that should have been too late; sensors and observers classify this not as raw speed but as the QDF quietly rearranging cause and effect around her.
Adaptive Durability for Allies and Environment (Limited): In close proximity, the QDF can incidentally spare nearby structures or civilians from the full consequences of impact, collapse, or blast effects by softening local physics, though this is, again, usually an unconscious side effect.
Paraphysical Resistance: The same anomalous nature that breaks normal physics also makes Lady Steel extremely resistant to conventional restraints, power dampeners, or predictive combat models; attempts to contain or mathematically forecast her behavior routinely fail.
Field Scaling and Emotional Modulation: The effective radius and “sharpness” of the QDF fluctuate with her emotional state and clarity of purpose; focused conviction tightens and strengthens the field, while doubt, confusion, or psychological shock can blunt or misdirect it.
Plasma Vision (QDF-Structured Emission): What the public calls “plasma beams” from her eyes are actually the QDF focusing destructive intent into a narrow, high-energy channel along her line of sight; sensors register plasma-like output, but its intensity, path, and even apparent composition are governed by her will more than by conventional thermodynamics.
