Lockring question

So apparently the lockring tool for Bosch gen 2 ebikes also fits the Rohloff lockring and can be found much cheaper than the Rohloff tool. But I wonder if the lockrings also share the same thread - can I use a Bosch gen 2 lockring on my Rohloff hub? They're a bit easier to find.

I just received my first Rohloff hub from ebay seller. I didn't expect it to come with a splined sprocket carrier, but this does look like one, except I don't see any space to mount a snapring? It just doesn't look like the carriers I see when I google. What is it and what do I need?
