Need alternatives for backpacking trip in North and South Carolina for some Scouts.

Hi there. Asst. Scoutmaster with a Troop based near Charlotte, NC. We are supposed to backpack in the Panthertown area this weekend, however, weather is not looking all that great with rain both Saturday and Sunday. Our Scoutmaster has tasked us with finding alternatives.

The rain situation looks better closer to the coast, but I can't seem to find any backpacking trails that have 4-6 miles of total hiking (whether in a loop or out and back) with an overnight camp.

Any ideas?

I have been using a HangTight UQ for about a year now. Overall it’s been a pretty solid UQ for the price. Zero complaints on the warmth, etc

My main issue comes when I’m sleeping (head right, feet left) and the last few times out the right side near my head seems to want to shift under me and the left side near my feet shifts up. Leaving me with a cold shoulder. I have played with the suspension with both the main suspension and the shock cords near the baffle end going up to the ridgeline near the buckle. The cords are also attached to the little clips along sides of my hammock (SLD trail lair)

I do sleep with a standard sized bellow and wonder if that’s is somehow pushing it over but it doesn’t seem likely. Any ideas how to keep it in place?
